At MacPaw, supporting Cybersecurity Awareness Month has become a good tradition. This year, Moonlock joins Champion organizations to help people develop simple cybersecurity habits.
Making cybersecurity more accessible is at the heart of Moonlock’s existence, but becoming a Champion allows us to expand our everyday mission. Together with other participating organizations, we can amplify the importance of strong passwords, MFA, software updates, and recognition of phishing.
The best way to keep up with Moonlock’s Champion campaign is to follow our social media. And while you’re hitting that Subscribe button, let us tell you what exciting content we’ve already prepared.
Teaching cybersecurity basics via Cybersecuritoons
What happens when cybersecurity researchers meet a professional animation studio? In Moonlock’s case, it’s a series of colorful and fun cartoons on basic cybersecurity topics—Cybersecuritoons.
Each episode is easy to understand and delightful to watch. And it takes only 90 seconds to cover the most relevant recommendations on how to protect yourself online. Check out one of the ‘toons that’s already raked up thousands of views:
For their engaging ways of making cybersecurity more accessible to people, Cybersecuritoons have been recognized as the best training videos. And while recognition of the industry experts means a lot to us, we hope that Cybersecuritoons will also be appreciated by people who are looking for reliable sources of information about safety online.
Sharing practical knowledge from Moonlock on YouTube
Today, video is the king of content. Naturally, we doubled down on our video-making efforts to reach as many people as possible. As a Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champion, we’ve prepared a few explainers with practical tips and tools to beef up cyber defenses that protect people every day.
One of the videos on Moonlock’s YouTube channel covers free password managers for Mac. Our enthusiastic host, Emilio Aguero, guides the viewers through the specs and features of Moonlock’s top three password managers that are available for free.
Multifactor authentication made its way into our spotlight, too. We’ve covered what MFA is, the difference between MFA and 2FA, and the reasons to get an authentication app. Emilio also shared five MFA apps that Moonlock recommends for iPhones.
Hosting the Objective for the We conference in Kyiv
This October, Moonlock makes time to give back to the community of professionals. On October 10-11, MacPaw is teaming up with the Objective-See Foundation to organize a conference for aspiring security researchers.
The Objective for the We event will take place in Kyiv, with the support of MacPaw teams from Moonlock and CleanMyMac. It’s a free conference for macOS and iOS security enthusiasts, students of cybersecurity or related majors, and security specialists at the start of their careers.
At the conference, participants will engage in hands-on training sessions and listen to insightful talks from leading Apple security experts, including Patrick Wardle. Malware investigators from Moonlock Lab will share the stage with Patrick, offering a peek into the daily work of malware researchers and reverse engineers. It’s a fantastic opportunity to pass on knowledge to the next generation of cyber defenders!
October will be a busy month for Moonlock. Wearing a badge of a Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champion makes it even more exciting!
